David Sherlock is a voracious problem solver, who excels at interpreting market data. Using this data, he’s built a successful strategy to provide SAGE clients with less risk and more return. David specializes in developing quantitative North American equity models.
David is a graduate of the University of Calgary and holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Political Science; he also holds the Canadian Investment Manager, Personal Financial Planner, Financial Management Advisor, Associate Institute of Canadian Bankers, and Fellow of CSI designations. David has worked as a Portfolio Manager serving high net worth families for over 14 years, and has previously held positions in investment research and investment wholesaling roles.

A trusted industry expert, David has been interviewed and featured in the national media. He won the Globe & Mail 2012 Stock Picking Contest, which invites investment professionals to choose a single equity with the potential for spectacular gains over the course of the calendar year.
Involved in Education
Excited about educating both clients and the next generation of investment professionals, David has enjoyed teaching the Canadian Securities Course and other investment management courses through Mount Royal University for almost a decade. He also teaches an advanced portfolio management course at the University of Calgary.

David is the happy father of five children. He and his wife actively volunteer in a number of community programs. He has lived abroad and speaks fluent Cantonese.
